SPR Advocacy Brief
The bi-weekly SPR Advocacy Brief highlights timely ways members can take action, view the latest resources, and participate in advocacy initiatives from the Society and Pediatric Policy Council (PPC).
Public Policy Letters and Statements
SPR regularly signs on to letters and statements in support of the Society’s policy priorities, often partnering with coalitions in the broader pediatric community. These efforts focus on sustaining research funding, protecting public health programs, and advancing child health initiatives.
Pediatric Policy Council
Since 1984, the Pediatric Policy Council (PPC) has served as a unified voice for academic pediatrics on Capitol Hill. It represents the collaborative advocacy efforts of four leading organizations: SPR, the American Pediatric Society (APS), the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs (AMSPDC), and the Academic Pediatric Association (APA).
The PPC convenes bi-monthly and annually hosts a dedicated pediatric policy scholarly session at the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Meeting, highlighting current legislative and policy issues impacting child health and academic pediatrics.
