SPR’s mission is to cultivate a diverse network of child health researchers through collaboration, community, mentorship, and advocacy

The Society for Pediatric Research® (SPR) connects and empowers leading pediatric scientists united by a shared vision of promoting child health through a flourishing community of diverse researchers at the forefront of scientific discovery.

Since 1929, SPR has served as a professional home for over 4,200 pediatric researchers across North America and the Caribbean. The Society provides a platform for collaboration to engaged leaders and early-career scientists in child health.

Society Governance

SPR is governed by a 15-member Council and 9-member Executive Council, supported by dedicated committees and work groups . These engaged volunteers ensure SPR’s mission-critical programs accomplish the Society’s annual goals.  

SPR was founded in 1929 and incorporated in 1963. The provisions of these Bylaws are amended and expanded from those as amended and approved by the Society in 2019.
