The Society for Pediatric Research reintroduces the Emerging to Established (E2E) Section (formerly the Junior Section)

As part of SPR’s new strategic plan, we’ve reimagined the Junior Section as the Emerging to Established (E2E) Section. This change is designed to reflect the critical role of early-career members in shaping the future of pediatric research and create stronger pathways into leadership.

Why the change?

  • A New Name: The name Emerging to Established (E2E) reflects the journey from early-career to established leadership roles.
  • Restructured Leadership: The E2E Council will be led by a Chair and Chair-Elect, working closely with the SPR Council to ensure member voices are heard.
  • Mentorship Focus: The SPR Past-President will serve as a mentor to guide the Steering Committee and provide valuable insight.

The E2E Section will now be led by a Chair and Chair-Elect, replacing the former President and President-Elect structure. This new Steering Committee will collaborate closely with the SPR Council and work to ensure that the early-career members have a voice in SPR’s initiatives.

The SPR Past-President will serve as a mentor to the E2E Steering Committee, offering guidance and support to members. This mentorship aims to bridge the gap between emerging and established members, providing valuable insights into leadership and career development.
