The Midwest Society for Pediatric Research Annual Meeting Highlights
HOUSTON, October 9, 2025 – The Midwest Society for Pediatric Research (MSPR) Annual Meeting was held on September 17-19, 2025, in Chicago with over 200 attendees. MSPR extends a heartfelt thanks to all the incredible speakers, presenters, moderators, and participants of the MSPR 2025 Meeting. Their passion, insights, and energy lit up every session and truly made the event unforgettable.
MSPR seeks to further pediatric research in the Midwest by highlighting scientific discovery, fostering collaborations, and promoting academic career development from trainees to senior faculty. Through strong mentorship networks and annual meeting, MSPR provides its members a unique way to develop significant, interactive, and supportive scientific and academic connections with other researchers across the Midwest region.
The meeting featured distinguished invited speakers from institutions across the region, including the first Midwest Leadership Panel featuring Estella Alonso, MD from Northwestern University, Bryce Binstadt, MD, PhD, from the University of Minnesota, and Patrick McNamara, MD, from the University of Iowa.
These three distinguished leaders generously shared their wisdom, offering thoughtful reflections on their vision, values, and leadership philosophies, as well as practical guidance on career development and navigating systemic challenges. Their honesty, approachability, and depth of experience made the session engaging, interactive, and deeply enriching for the trainees.
