The Japan Pediatric Society (JPS) 128th Annual Meeting Highlights
HOUSTON, June 1, 2025 – The Japan Pediatric Society (JPS) held their 128th Annual Meeting from April 18-20, 2025, in Nagoya, Japan. Society for Pediatric Research (SPR) Executive Council Member, David McCulley, MD, had the pleasure of attending the 2025 JPS Annual Meeting. As the SPR Organizational Partnerships Chair, Dr. McCulley leads the collaborative efforts between SPR and global partners. During his time in Japan, Dr. McCulley connected with lung researchers in Kyoto, neonatology colleagues in Tokyo and Saitama, and met the first female JPS President, Junko Takita, MD.
Through joint collaboration SPR & JPS developed “Fostering Leadership Program”, to support and provide opportunities to young Japanese pediatricians who desire to have research experience at high-ranking academic institutions in the United States. This program opens opportunities for early-career investigators and expands academic and human exchanges between Japan and the United States in the field of pediatric research. SPR and JPS also participates in an awardee exchange program in which each organization invites the other organization to send three of their early investigator awardees to its annual meeting. The hosting organization provides complimentary registration to the awardees. Learn about the Japan Pediatric Society Fellow Exchange Program.
